Second Extinction is a shooter that emphasizes a three-player co-op mode. The title sets the players to deal with the threat of mutant dinosaurs who managed to take control of the Earth. Cooperation plays a key role in this production – players can use different skills and weapons, combining them to gain an advantage over their opponents. The game was developed by Systemic Reaction studio.

Second Extinction takes place on Earth, but it is a planet very different from the one we know – it was overrun by … bloodthirsty, mutant dinosaurs. The player takes on the role of a member of an organization called ERA, which is stationed on a space station and tries to understand the nature of the opponent and reflect the world from his clawed paws

Second Extinction is a classic first-person shooter (so-called FPS), the mechanics of which resemble such series as Borderlands or Dead Island. Before starting the game, players choose one of several available characters with different skills and decide on a specific mission. It is worth noting that the game world is not open – each time we come across a large, but also carefully designed location (they form a large map together).

The gameplay is very intense – it is full of explosions and spectacular actions. Each time we have specific goals to be achieved depending on the mission, when we manage to achieve them, we still have to evacuate safely. Successes are rewarded – after returning to the base, we have the opportunity to buy new weapons or develop existing ones.

What distinguishes Second Extinction from other games of this type is, of course, the nature of the opponent. The creators made sure that individual dinosaurs differ in their abilities – in each of them we have to use slightly different tactics, and cooperation with other players plays a key role here.

In Second Extinction, we can play alone or with others, but the fun takes a blush in the online co-op mode (it was prepared with three players in mind).

Second Extinction has a nice, three-dimensional graphic design, which was created thanks to the use of the APEX Engine created by Avalanche Studios (we know it primarily from the Just Cause series of action adventure games). Designs of individual locations and monsters are really spectacular and can be liked.
